Bigfoot expedition Concession Stand Camp Green Swamp

Sign post for the Florida Trail
I had an opportunity to travel to the Green Swamp wilderness west track to do an overnight back country backpacking trip with our FaceBook group. This outing was organized by Nick who is new to Bigfoot and doing a great job. I got there around one and headed down main grade road to find the cut for the Florida Trail which would headed north to the camp. I passed a bunch of campers at the equestrIan camp who must of thought I looked funny dragging a suitcase like I was looking for the Hilton. I was hoping to have all of us hike to the campsite as a group but it was not to be. Kevin and Teri were doing something that day and would arrive later, and Nick was feeding the homeless. I did not even know that Rob was going to make it but it would be well after dark before he could arrive. No problem. Rob is retired Army and teaches ROTC. He thrives in the woods at night

Long leaf pine forest on the Florida Trail
I was not to believe the beauty I was witnessing. The topography, however, changed from cypress swamp to this sand pine forest. I was dragging a bag and the sand was slowing me down. This December day was cool, dry, and had a clear blue sky. It was the perfect day to be doing this. The temps tonight would get into the forties out here...brrr! I was prepared with layers of sweat shirts. Hopefully, we will have a raging fire and that will keep us warm.

Christmas Bigfoot campfire

This is Tim Fasano at the Christmas Bigfoot hunt in the Green Swamp. It was really hot that night and no way we needed a fire this bold.

Follow the power lines

One of the methods I learned from the Texas Bigfoot Hunters was to use access points that are not commonly used by hikers or hunters. Power lines have been cut out in a wide and deep swath that will gain you , access to areas that are off trail, and difficult to get to, and areas where a large animal has food and water and hiding spaces. For example, I have been able to find river banks that are never seen by anyone unless there is a Kayak that is miles from nowhere. I good map of the County your in should show you were these power line area are at. Now lets get hiking guys!

The Olympic Project

The Olympic Project lead by Derek Randles of Washington State is begining to yield some interesting results. Their stealth campaign of deep field trail cam deployment in one of the most ambitious projects in the history of bigfoot research.

The idea for the Olympic Project was first thought of by Richard Germeau and long time Bigfoot researcher Derek Randles. Richard, a Washington native, has an extensive background in law enforcement and investigation. Derek, a landscape contractor and wilderness guide in Washington State, is currently a field investigator and tracker with the Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO). Wally Hersom, the main benefactor for the BFRO, provides all the equipment to make this effort possible. Expert woodsmen and big game trackers, Brian Rasmussen and Robert Johnson, round out the Olympic Project team. This five year study will hopefully provide the first clear pictures of Bigfoot along with photographic documentation of many apex predators and ungulates living and moving throughout their natural habitat.

They have deployed 30 deep field digital trail cams that are set at a height of over 4 feet to eliminate triggers by low level four leggeg beast. This project has already began to yield results such as the image above that may indeed show the right front side of a sasquatch that is raising its arm.

Along a creek bed

A game trail took me to a source of water today. I did not find any sign that Skunk Apes are using this creek.

A test of field uploading videos

I shot this video just seconds ago from my car at the trailhead. Wow! I finally have the right stuff to do field loading. It does not have to go to YouTube first.
